About Ilinca
Maria Ilinca Bacila is a young artist born in Cluj Napoca in 1998, who comes from a family of musicians.
Ilinca has been studying music since the age of 7, and at only 14 she participated in "X Factor" as a member of a girls' band, managing to reach the live galas. Two years after participating in "X Factor", the artist goes on stage "Vocea Romaniei", where she is part of Loredana Groza's team and where she reaches the semifinals.
After being noticed at "X Factor" and "Vocea Romaniei", Ilinca begins collaborating with several cultural institutions in the country, such as the Iasi Philharmonic, the Cluj Romanian Opera and the Brasov Dramatic Theater.
At the beginning of 2017, Ilinca Bacila collaborates with Alex Florea and presents the song “Yodel it”, the song registered at the Eurovision Romania National Selection 2017. The song composed by Mihai Alexandru and Alexa Niculae won over the audience and the jury, so “Yodel it” won the final of the famous contest, and Ilinca and Alex represented Romania at Eurovision 2017. They reached the final in Kiev and finished on the 7th place, with 282 points.
The first solo song released by the artist was "Friends", which the audience could listen to for the first time on the day Ilinca took the Eurovision stage. Recently, the winner of the Eurovision National Selection 2017 and the Eurovision Romania 2018 jury, released the third single and video of her career, "Not now". The music is composed by Catalin Tamazlicaru, and the lyrics are written by Irina Rimes.
