About Orchestra Nationala Valahia
The Valahia National Orchestra, the youngest orchestra in Romania, was founded in 2011, on the occasion of the famous show “Cu drag, de Dragobete”, TVR.
In the extended formula Orchestra, there are over 25 instrumentalists - students, masters or graduates of the University of Music Bucharest, whose talent has already been confirmed by the rich record, built in record time.
The deep knowledge of authentic folklore, as well as the instrumental versatility make the Wallachian National Orchestra easily able to perform genres representative of various regions of Romania, but also have the ability to approach coffee-concert pieces, romances or entertainment music.
The vast repertoire of the orchestra includes folk songs and dances from all ethnofolkloric areas, specific instruments such as caucus, twin whistle, bagpipes, horse, ocarina, trumpet, panpipes or taragot - confirmed as elements of genuine interest to the audience.
Through the importance of its artistic activity, the Wallachian National Orchestra contributes to the preservation of the treasure of Romanian popular music, as well as its capitalization, contributing to its perpetuation and its popularization among new generations.
The Wallachian National Orchestra soon demonstrated its full devotion to national art and traditions. And all this would not have happened without the mastery of the conductor Marius Zorilă.
