Proiect K1 is one of the ethno-folklore band represented by SprintMediaGroup
Their journey began with a story: that of promoting Romanian folklore dressed in modern clothes and paving the way for national cultural values at a time when they were blurred and almost forgotten. The role of K1 in Romanian music history is well defined. There are those who managed to change the broadcasting percentages from 80% foreign music to 80% Romanian music. In 1996 he created the ethno current, breaking the patterns and winning the bet of a generation that begins to listen, to feel and especially to turn this music into a phenomenon. The desire to transmit Romanian myths and legends through music is realized by the establishment of the ethno-legend current and materializes by the release in 1997 of the album "Phoenix Dance Explosion" releasing one of the greatest Romanian hits: "Green Girl", with which he wins first place at the Mamaia Festival (1998). Between 2001-2004, K1 brings together 2 generations through collaborations initiated in the series of carol compilations "The Dream Gift".
Project K1 are the first producers to be awarded the "Prize for the sale of over 1 million units" by Cat Music. In 2006 they were awarded the "Steaua de Mare" Prize. The culmination of the career not only of producers but also of artists, comes with the realization of their soul project, the album "For Romania". The song that gives the title of the album becomes the official anthem of the national football team. It was only a natural consequence of the collaboration with the great soprano Felicia Filip which materializes in a European tour, under the title Euro Callatis and which proved to be a real success, traveling in 30 days 7 countries and holding a total of 12 concerts in front of tens of thousands of spectators, culminating in obtaining the Award for promoting Romanian music-Calatis Festival and the Diaspora Award for the project "Balade din Carpați" -Gala TVRi Awards Gala. In 2013, Proiect K1, together with Tuan and Madeline, composed the song “Mândru Să Fii Român” and launched the National Campaign - with the same name - for the promotion and discovery of authentic Romanian values.
